Farmer’s soup is a mixture of legumes: hulled red lentils, split peas, dry blackeye beans, whole red lentils, chickpeas, split beans, black beans, borlotti beans, cannellini beans, spelt.

Tradition has that it is enjoyed as a soup accompanied by toasted bread.
